Children’s Programme FAQs

We have removed our membership package to make it easier for parents and children to access the Children Programmes.

Please email cyp@ymca.co.uk and we will make the booking manually for you applying the credit.

Please create a Mind Body Online account for yourself adding the child as a family member. Once completed, please email cyp@ymca.co.uk and we will make the booking. Please note that you will not be able to book online to pay by childcare vouchers.

If your child or a family member develops any Covid-19 symptoms, please follow government guidelines.

We will have allocated spaces dependent on which classes your child will be attending. Please follow the signage around the building.

Teachers will be in the water for stage 1, all other classes will be taught from the poolside.

Stages 1-3 will have 7 children per class, whilst Stages 4-7 will have a max of 10 children per class. Squad class will have 12 children per class.

All classes will have 1 teacher.

Yes, floating aids will be available for children to use each session.

The playscheme is £35 per day at YMCA Club from 9am – 5pm.

We are currently unable to offer a sibling discount. We hope to be able to bring this option back soon.

All children will have to stay with their age groups as part of our policies to manage risk.

You can cancel up to 72 hours before your booking date. This will be returned as a credit to use against future playschemes. After this point, all bookings are final and you will be charged the full amount.

All children will have to attend the trip to the park in the afternoon.

Yes, swimming will be available as part of the timetabled activities.

There are no earlybirds or twilights. We have extended the standard day to 9am – 5pm.

Due to different age groups and spaces being used in the facility, we have capped the number of children for each class.

Football and Basketball will take place on the sports hall floor which is situated on the -3 floor.

Gymnastics will take place in the yoga studio which is situated on the -2 floor.

We only take block bookings for the term. The price will be calculated each school term based on the number of sessions minus the free trial if you are a new customer.

We ask the children to come in appropriate sports and footwear. We also ask them to bring a water bottle which can be filled up at our several water fountains across the facility.

We do encourage parents to stay with their child if they are aged between 4 – 6 years old. There are benches and seating areas available.

If you arrive early, we ask you kindly to wait in our cafe area until the session starts. This is due to other classes using the space before hand and to avoid any disruption. It is also the parent’s responsibility to look after their child before and after the session and we ask all parents to adhere to the YMCA Health and Safety policy and procedures.
